This thick and creamy chocolate strawberry keto smoothie is low in net carbs, paleo friendly and even has a vegan option! It tastes like dessert but is packed with nutrients and makes the perfect breakfast for any chocolate lover!
For a couple of years now I’ve been having a smoothie every day for breakfast.
I never considered myself a “smoothie person” until I realized how much easier the morning was when I didn’t have to cook!
I could get all the ingredients and nutrients I wanted without the mess and time. Plus, I got used to having a sweet breakfast and started experimenting with different flavors.
Chocolate is definitely my favorite when it comes to smoothies! I have a favorite chocolate collagen protein from Ancient Nutrition that goes in my smoothie nearly every day.
(You can see my everyday smoothie recipe here.)
Anyway, I decided to experiment with making a lower carb smoothie that incorporates a lot of the same ingredients as my everyday recipe, just without the carbs.
I was in love with the result! Let’s get into all the details so you can make it ASAP.
What You Need to Make this Chocolate Strawberry Paleo + Keto Smoothie
The ingredients are really simple and you might have many of them in your kitchen already.
For the avocados, you can either freeze your own or buy frozen avocado chunks (I get mine from Whole Foods.)
Here’s everything you’ll need to prepare your chocolate strawberry smoothie:
frozen sliced strawberries frozen avocado chunkscashews or pecansunsweetened almond milkpure vanilla extractunsweetened cocoa powdermonk fruit sweetener (powdered or granulated)chocolate collagen protein, or preferred chocolate protein (I used Ancient Nutrition)Ice, if desired
How to Make this Chocolate Strawberry Keto Smoothie
For a single serving smoothie like this one, I like to use my Ninja blender, but any blender should work well.
Simply add all the ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth and creamy. The time needed will vary based on your blender.
You can add in additional ice near the end if you like and continue to blend.
How to Make Coconut Whipped Cream
You can make keto friendly coconut whipped cream with just two ingredients – coconut cream and monk fruit.
The coconut cream you need is the solid part of a chilled can of coconut cream. The 365 brand from Whole Foods works well for me, as does Thai Kitchen.
I preferred the powdered monk fruit sweetener for coconut whipped cream to keep it light and fluffy.
Add both ingredients to a bowl and either whip them using a fork, whisk, or electric hand mixer. The electric hand mixer will get you the creamiest whipped cream!
I hope you’re ready for a quick, healthy, and very delicious chocolate strawberry smoothie!
Grab your ingredients and your blender and let’s go! I hope you love it as much as I do 🙂
