This thick creamy chocolate chip cookie smoothie is made with clean ingredients but tastes like dessert! Healthy fats, carbs from fruit and added protein makes it nourishing and totally delicious. Have it for breakfast, a snack or a treat! Paleo friendly with a vegan option.
I’ve been on the biggest smoothie kick this summer! All I want to do is dream up new flavors.
Today we’re making a chocolate chip cookie smoothie! Totally creamy, like drinkable cookie dough but made with good for you, clean eating ingredients.
Like fruit, nuts, and dairy free greek style yogurt. Plus some collagen or your favorite protein powder.
You get lots of nutrients but you’re basically just having dessert. It’s a big WIN for all!
What You Need to Make this Chocolate Chip Cookie Smoothie
To get this smoothie super creamy and thick I brought in all my favorites!
Here’s everything you need to prepare the smoothie:
frozen banana slicesalmond flour (not just for baking!)raw cashews medjool datesalmond milk Greek style yogurt (I use Kite Hill)almond milkvanilla collagen peptides or plant based vanilla protein powder (for a vegan version)mini chocolate chips (or chopped dark chocolate, or cacao nibs)
How to Make this Chocolate Chip Cookie Smoothie
Place all ingredients except for the chocolate chips in a blender.
You can use a personal size blender or larger one, but a good high speed blender works best! I used a Nutribullet for the smoothie in the photos. I also have a Ninja personal blender that does a great job too.
Blend until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape the sides if needed.
For the chocolate chips, either add them at the end without blending, or pulse the blender a few times to break them down.
Serve with additional chocolate chips, or, for a dessert use grain free chocolate cookie crumbles on top! I used Simple Mills cookies for the photos.
Substituting Ingredients
For a nut free version of this smoothie, feel free to use gluten free oats instead of the almond flour and cashews. You can also use a tablespoon of flaxseed meal to make up for the cashews.
Although the cashews do add some creaminess, the smoothie is still great without them. You can even throw in a tablespoon of sunflower butter for a bit of extra creaminess while keeping it nut free.
Additionally, if you don’t need the smoothie to be dairy free, it’s fine to sub in regular Greek yogurt.
You can also use just about any dairy free yogurt, either plain or vanilla flavored and get great results. The yogurt is mainly there to give you a great creamy texture.
I hope you’re ready for a seriously delicious, dessert-like smoothie that you can make anytime you’re craving a treat!
Grab your ingredients and your favorite blender and let’s go!
